Burlington, IA (5 May 2007): The #53 crew set up a perfect race car, and we showed it by dominating our heat race and won by a large margin! Really starting to get the hang of this. The JACK LINK'S Beef Jerky, GCI Global, IDEAL Ready Mix Raider is lightning fast, and the driver is starting to live up to the teams goals and potential. We started the Feature in the third row, and quickly got to the front, at one point went from fourth to first in one corner, only to have the pass negated by a caution. After restarting in fourth, Beef quickly moved by third and second, before being smoked from behind, sending us to restart 23rd! You would think that the Rookie would be making all of the driving errors? But he has yet to lay a fender on a soul...yet! After the restart, in the few remaining laps, a motivated JACK LINK'S dirt modified set sail, laid fenders on a few, and passed ten cars utilizing the cushion, slide jobs, and splitting the middle right thru the ruts, on what was deemed the roughest track any had seen. Beef had the car completely off the ground in almost every corner, using his sprint car experience, he manhandled the car. After words, Beef was heard saying that this car handled MUCH like a non-wing sprint car. Something familiar is starting to happen, and don't be surprised if the #53 JACK LINK'S Beef Jerky, GCI Global, IDEAL Ready Mix Raider becomes the car to beat any time it rolls into the pits.
Burlington, IA (28 April 2007): Won our first race that we finished without a crash! Ran away with it by half a straight away, even though the left rear coil over eliminator separated on lap two, and created a VERY tight condition. We are starting to get the hang of this stuff! Started the feature inside the 2nd row, and would you believe? The guy that smoked us on the front stretch last week before the flag stand, did it again this week entering turn one on the first lap, and caused a six car fracas? We continued with a broken LR suspension, and was running fourth when we got smoked again by his team mate, and finished us off for good. Under the caution, Beef let the driver know his displeasure. The team mate continued on for the win.
Burlington, IA (21 April 2007): Started our first heat race, was running up front on a dry slick, dusty track, and spun. Went to the tail, and passed thru to take the final transfer spot into the "A". Started 6th row outside in the Feature, and got run over before we even passed the flag stand. We had a six inch hole in the right front tire, bent wheel, broken upper "A" Arm, and bent the shock at full extension. We managed to limp around on three wheels for about five laps, as long as we kept the left front off of the ground, we were okay. We fell back a few spots, and passed up to eighth on the cushion before we lost control and spun. The officials sent us to the pits late in the caution, a quick tire change by the best pit crew in the land couldn't get us back out in time, and we watched from the trailer.
